Happy Chinese new year Everyone. I 've got 10 days hoilday SUPERB!! and finally I 've kicked off my sketchbook project. I've attended the project which ends up by the April 30 2012. It's the next round. I know most of the EDM members have joined the one closing one 31st.Jan.2012. wow..it's getting exciting,right..now I can't image the result at the end, must be exciting when the expired date is approaching..
Actually , at the beginning, I could n't make up my mind and decide what to draw for the theme. And also I concern the media what i am going to use ,should I remove the original paper ......lots of issues need to be thought about beforehand. I've made some decisions for my theme such as food , mom's receipt ...And finally it comes out with ...."everyday matters" ....I made the decide that I would like to draw whatever I like..which means no topic...ha.it gives me more freedom and more space to doodle..
The sketch with watercolor is made for our year end party for 2011. We went for a buffet in a good restaurant, I've made this seafood plate for myself..haha yummy yummy...
Looks like you are off to a great start.
ReplyDeleteFantastic artwork.
Stew.
It looks fabulous! Both the food and your sketch of it.
ReplyDeletevery exciting. It is great to see everyone else's themes and how they interpret the pages. Looking forward to more of yours....
ReplyDeleteI love the way that you have made the journal the plate !
Great start! I'm mailing my Jan deadline sketchbook off today. I went thru a lot of the same questions you did before starting and experimented a little along the way. I definately have a better game plan for next time in terms of media....that paper is so thin. You's looks excellent though. Did you rebind it or keep it intact?
ReplyDeleteRebecca,Thanks for your comment, yes I have been thinking about this question for a while. Orginally, I decided to rebind with all new watercolor paper but finally i decided just to glue in some of the pages, which means I keep it intact. This is first time, so I just want to keep it as sample as possible. If I get more experience, I may consider to rebind it in the future. Honestly , the paper they offer is really .......
DeleteGreat start, good idea for the theme!
ReplyDeleteLooks absolutely yummy! =) I haven't had reunion dinners for years now(yes I am a bad son) Thanks for your comments, and Happy Chinese New Year to you too. Hope you enjoy the rest of your holidays, and draw more ^^
ReplyDeleteDelicious!! And a great choice of topic :D Look forward to seeing more as your journal progresses. I agree with you about the sketchbook paper - I will have to learn how to re-bind in time for the next one.
